When Jonik Patel was pursuing a Master of Business Administration (Management Information Systems concentration) at Midway University, he landed an opportunity that would help him find a way into work that mattered.
Through an internship with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the student worked shaping public infrastructure and policy decisions. He saw how it affected roads, communities, lives. “The chance to contribute to projects that affect communities across the state made the role especially meaningful to me,” he says.
His interest in working at the intersection of data, systems, and business processes strengthened. And so did his sense of purpose. “It showed me the importance of not just analysing data, but also communicating insights effectively to stakeholders, which is something I want to continue developing in my career,” he says.
That’s the kind of university-to-career stories you hear at this private higher education institution ranked #71 among Regional Universities South (2026 US News & World Report) and placed fifth in the Best Value Colleges in Kentucky in 2026 (Research.com).
With over 2,000 students and a 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio, it’s the kind of place where your professors know your name and your career goals don’t fall through the cracks.

Programmes built for where the world is going
Midway offers a range of undergraduate and graduate STEM programmes designed around the skills employers are actively looking for. At the undergraduate level, you can pursue degrees in Biology, Computer Science, or Mathematics – each built around real-world application.
At the graduate level, programmes like the Master of Management Information Systems (MMIS) and the MBA prepare you for high-level roles in technology, business, and beyond. Whatever level you’re coming in at, the focus is the same: leaving with skills you can actually use.
“Coming to Midway University from India to pursue my MBA has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” says MBA graduate Vandan Vadher. “With the knowledge and experience I gained at Midway University, I successfully transitioned into my current role as a Branch Banker at PNC, one of the US’s leading financial institutions.”

Support built around your success
Getting into the right programme is the first step. But staying on track, especially when you’re far from home and adjusting to a new academic system, is just as important in getting you to your career goals. That’s where Midway’s Student Success Centre comes in.
Through one-on-one coaching, tutoring, test accommodations, and more, it’s set up to help students perform at their best. Whatever you’re dealing with – a heavy workload or a high-stakes exam – the support is there from day one.
For those facing financial barriers, Midway University offers academic merit aid, athletic/talent-based scholarship, and a variety of other scholarships. As many as over 90% of students take part in its financial assistance programmes each year.
Once you’re settled academically and financially, Career Services helps you start thinking about what comes next. The office covers everything from resume writing and interview prep to internships and job searches. Regular on-campus recruitment events bring employers straight to students.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re in your first year or your last — the office stays involved throughout. Bronwyn Wright, a South African undergraduate studying Equine Studies, discovered a passion for teaching through her time working in the tutor room – then relied on Career Services to turn that into something real.
“That’s where it ignited – I realized I loved it,” she says. “Career Services helped me find opportunities, and now I have a job lined up after graduation as a science teacher.”
A community where you belong
Midway’s Multicultural Student Association provides international students with a real sense of community through year-round events. There’s the International Food Festival – where students cook dishes from home – alongside celebrations like Diwali and Holi Fest, and off-campus trips to local museums and Keeneland Race Course.
Amidst food and fun, strangers become new friends and the university feels even more like home away from home. “Walking onto Midway’s campus, I felt like I was walking into my own little movie,” Wright says. “The people here have been so welcoming – everyone wants you to succeed.”
