In Shah Alam, Malaysia, just a half-hour drive from the capital city, Management and Science University (MSU) drives real-world impact through globally acclaimed research, ranging from sustainable coral preservation to local blindness interventions.

Now ranked #17 in Southeast Asia, MSU translates this research excellence into technology-driven, industry-aligned programmes designed to prepare students for global careers. And it has achieved just that, recording a 99% graduate employability rate.

Below are five more reasons why international students choose MSU:

The significance of a dual-sector university

A dual-sector university offers both academic and vocational training. Students can opt to pursue both academic and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Programme offerings include Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Cardiovasular Technology, Accounting and Finance, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Biomedical Science, Aircraft Maintenance Technology, and many more. To be accessible to international students, they are all taught in English.

This is a holistic approach that has led to multiple awards. In 2025, MSU was recognised as ASEAN’s Most Transformative and Impactful TVET University at the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards (META).

Global partnerships that lead to global opportunities

Ever wondered if you could earn one degree but experience more than one university? Wonder less and take action. MSU alone is home to a 2,000-strong international student community, which allows learners from diverse backgrounds to connect and collaborate. Beyond that, the university has established partnerships with over 500 institutions across 82 countries, meaning students are more than welcome to seek opportunities to study or intern abroad.

Discover the value of an overseas education

With 500 academic partnerships, MSU offers three student mobility programmes for students to complete their degree in more than one country: the Global Mobility Programme (GMP), Global Leadership Programme (GLP), and Global Internship Programme (GIP).

In 2023’s first cohort alone, 125 individuals participated in these programmes, including a mix of both inbound and outbound students. Four students from the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts went to Abdullah Gül University in Turkey, while seven from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences attended Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. Currently, MSU has over 3,500 students who have  completed mobility programmes worldwide, across all faculties and schools.

An education informed by industry expertise, for real-world success

For years now, MSU has reigned at the top of the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education’s ranking of Employers’ Top Choice for Graduate Employability. It has a 99% graduate employability rate and MSU alumni have gone on to become CEOs, national athletes, medical doctors, and more. All of this is by no means a coincidence.

The curriculum is designed to include many hands-on learning opportunities, from internships to community engagement. It’s a merging of education and industry that’s driven by the university’s 3,000+ partnerships. Each programme includes input from the University-Industry Advisory Panel as well, ensuring the curriculum continuously adapts to evolving workforce needs.
