What do you like most about your job?
I love that I get to meet people from all facets of international and domestic education across the region. I also love being able to support more Australian universities, institutions and edtech companies as they enter India and South Asia, and help a business or university be successful.
Describe a project or initiative you’re currently working on that excites you.
If we can solve the problem — or create an opportunity — for all students studying with or in Australia to have almost guaranteed employment pathways, while giving companies access to a new talent pipeline and the ability to inform future course direction, that would be amazing.
What’s a piece of work you’re proud of – and what did it teach you?
There are a number of things from the past few years that I’m exceptionally proud of, but one is seeing how deeply Australian education is now embedded in India. It taught me humility and the power of perseverance — and that good things come to those who work hard.
What’s a small daily habit that helps you in your work?
It’s not so much a daily habit for work, but I switch off my mind by playing Duolingo. I’m learning Spanish at the moment and have kept up the streak for 490 days!
What’s one change you’d like to see in your sector over the next few years?
I’d like to see more equity and access to education across India and South Asia. I’d love to see more underprivileged children able to access the quality of education we are seeing around us here. That is probably my number one priority.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting out in this field?
Keep the student at the centre of everything you do. If you approach every decision through the lens of what is best for the student, you can never go wrong.
