Enrico Lauletta had always wanted to make games, and after years studying computer science, he found what he was looking for at ITU. “The MSc in Games programme felt like the one perfectly tailored for me,” he says.

There, group work and Copenhagen’s discussion-driven culture taught Lauletta patience and iteration. “Group work really helped in that sense, because I had the opportunity to get to know my colleagues more closely, with all their different approaches to work and studying, different approaches to the subjects, and different approaches to life,” he says.

These are skills that led to the turning of an exam project into an independent studio, winning Lauletta the Best Student Game Award at TAGS 2024. Today, he relies on those same skills daily as a Game Designer at IO Interactive, a Danish video game developer and publisher based in Copenhagen. In 2026, his contributions to the stealth game franchise “Hitman” earned him and his team the 2026 Spilprisen Talent Award, one of the Danish gaming industry’s highest honours.

Reflecting on his time at university, Lauletta believes the closest metaphor is a long camping trip with close friends. “You go there breathing fresh air, taking in everything nature has to offer you and that you normally don’t experience in the everyday life, you create bonds, you go through adventures, you discover things about yourself and about your fellow travellers, you go through a transformation, and you come back enriched, anew,” he says.
