“It is with great sadness that we announce that BSC Education Ltd will cease trading and enter liquidation,” the company said in a statement.

The group did not disclose details of the liquidation or the reasons behind it, but told partners that its “immediate priority is supporting our current students providing information to those with future bookings”.

During what it describes as “an extremely difficult time for everyone connected with BSC Education” the company said it is “working closely with English UK and other stakeholders to help students continue their studies through alternative accredited schools” and added that students, agents and partners are being contacted directly with further information about their individual circumstances.

BSC Education is an international English language school group with accredited centres in the UK, Malta, and Kuwait, as well as an online school. Its schools host adult students, young learners, and teachers from around the world.

“BSC Education has welcomed thousands of students from around the world, providing educational opportunities, cultural experiences and pathways to personal and professional growth,” the statement continued.

“We are immensely proud of the impact our schools, staff and partners have made and of the global community that has been built over the years.”

“We would like to thank our students, agents, educational partners, accommodation hosts and suppliers. Above all, we thank our dedicated staff, past and present, for their trust, support and commitment. Their contribution has been central to everything BSC Education has achieved.”

The news comes at a difficult time for the English language sector, following EC English Language Centres’ confirmation that it is closing all 25 of its language schools across seven destinations with immediate effect.

In same week as EC closed, Canada’s ILAC Education Group announced it had made the “difficult decision” to conclude its operations.
