The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) is open to students in a wide range of subjects, from economics and law to medicine and psychology.
Apply to the Admissions Offices of the Graduate Schools, which will have their specific eligibility requirements, selection criteria and application instructions.
2. Lund University, Sweden
This university awarded more than 100 Lund University Global Scholarships in 2022, and its recipients represented more than 40 countries.
The scholarship award targets students that are outside of the EU and EEA.
Some are programme-specific, such as Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship, the Lund University Global Scholarship Programme and The Söderberg Scholarship.
Lund University also uniquely offers scholarships that are country-specific such as for Indonesia, Colombia, Chile, Russia, and Uruguay.
3. The University of Pisa, Italy
Despite being one of the oldest universities in Europe, the University of Pisa has a vibrant community of international students that enjoy lessons in English.
Every year, the university allocates 24 merit scholarships for international students in its master’s programmes or Bachelor in Management (Business and Economics) programme.

The Danish Government provides scholarships to international students, through a limited number of grants and tuition waivers at this top-ranked Danish university.

6. TU Graz, Austria
Together with partners from industry around the world, TU Graz is dedicated to bringing in and nurturing top talent.
Since 2021, the TU Graz 100 scholarship programme has supported around 200 talented students in their academic journey.
As part of its High Potentials initiative, TU Graz offers scholarships to young talent from Austria and beyond: up to €8,800 (≈US$10,296) for bachelor’s students and up to €17,600 (≈US$20,593) for master’s students over two years.
7. University of Antwerp, Belgium
Ranked #280 in the QS World University Rankings 2026, the University of Antwerp is one of Belgium’s leading public universities.

8. The University of Tartu, Estonia
With the University of Tartu, it’s good to know that at the Master’s level, there are more opportunities to save.
Many English-taught programmes (though not all) offer tuition waivers for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens, as well as permanent residents.

9. University of Latvia, Latvia
The University of Latvia isn’t just the largest university in the country. It’s also a modern, forward-looking centre for education and research across disciplines like science, technology, humanities, and medicine.
To make studying more accessible, the University of Latvia Foundation offers Patron scholarships for high-achieving students and researchers, as well as those who need extra financial support.
10. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania
If you’re applying to Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) as an international student, you’ll automatically be considered for a full or partial tuition fee waiver — especially if you have a strong academic record and clear motivation.
KTU also offers additional opportunities for students from Mongolia through a partnership with the Education Loan Fund under the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia.
Through this agreement, Mongolian students who receive government-supported scholarships can apply for English-taught Bachelor’s programmes at KTU.
